Mukesh Singhal is one of the Co-Founders and Senior Partner at KNM & Partners, Law Offices, with over 25 years of experience advising on corporate, taxation, and foreign exchange laws. A dual-qualified lawyer and chartered accountant, Mukesh brings rare depth in legal, tax, and regulatory structuring, serving a diverse clientele comprising multinational companies, foreign investors, high-net-worth individuals, and Indian conglomerates.

He is a part of the Firm’s direct taxation, foreign investment, and corporate structuring practices and is the trusted advisor for several inbound and outbound investment mandates, business reorganizations, and direct tax controversies. His cross-functional experience enables him to integrate transactional, regulatory, and litigation strategies into seamless, business-centric solutions.

Mukesh has played a central role in advising marquee clients on India entry strategies, cross-border acquisitions, exit structuring, and complex direct tax matters. He regularly appears before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal and appellate tax forums, representing clients in transfer pricing, withholding tax, and international taxation disputes.

Mukesh also advises on group reorganizations, demergers, shareholding rationalizations, and cross-border restructuring for value unlocking, consolidation, and future fund-raising. He has been actively involved in major restructuring, joint venture and M&A transactions across sectors, including manufacturing, logistics, engineering, and fintech, as reflected in the Firm’s key awards and submissions.

  • Advisory on joint venture between a Japanese manufacturer and an Indian OEM engaged in supply of seating systems to the largest manufacturer of automobiles in India (2025).
  • Advisory on exit by a group of Cypriot entities from their investment in Indian companies, engaged in the construction development sector (2023 – 2025).
  • Advisory on strategic investment by an Alternative Investment Fund in an Indian company (2023).
  • Advised a Japanese OEM in relation to its joint venture with an Indian listed company, concerning the affairs and management of their joint venture company (2025).
  • Advised a set of promoter Group in relation to the ongoing family dispute in respect of group of family companies, engaged in infrastructure sector (2024 – 2025).
  • Advisory on proposed investment into an Indian listed company by way of preferential issue of shares and sale of shares by one of the promoters (2025).
