Vijay Kumar Nair is a Co-Founder and Senior Partner at KNM & Partners, Law Offices, bringing over three decades of distinguished legal practice. A graduate in Psychology and Law from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi, Vijay enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi in 1994 and has since built a thriving litigation and disputes practice.

Vijay has represented leading corporates, financial institutions, real estate developers, infrastructure companies, and high-net-worth individuals in a diverse array of commercial, contractual, insolvency, constitutional, and regulatory disputes across courts and tribunals in India. His practice spans the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, NCLT, NCLAT, and various Tribunals.

He is particularly known for his strategic counsel in complex shareholder disputes, cross-border arbitrations, high-stake insolvency proceedings, and regulatory enforcement actions under fiscal statutes, including PMLA, FEMA, and SEBI. Vijay has also handled litigation in tender and procurement disputes, intellectual property enforcement, and competition law.

Beyond his commercial practice, Vijay has actively contributed to pro bono matters involving human rights, personal liberty, and environmental protection. He is a mentor to young lawyers and frequently participates in moot courts, seminars, and training programs for legal professionals and law enforcement agencies.

      • Advised and represented corporates, resolution professionals, and creditors in proceedings under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) before NCLT and NCLAT.
      • Acted in personal insolvency matters under the IBC and handled litigation in relation to corporate liquidation proceedings.
      • Advised clients on schemes of arrangement, mergers, amalgamations, and demergers, including litigation before NCLT and High Courts.
      • Advised clients under the erstwhile Sick Industrial Companies (Special Provisions) Act (SICA).

    • Represented Indian and foreign companies, including expatriate employees, in disputes under FEMA, FERA, and PMLA, including successful defence in penalty and enforcement actions.
